Profile
Historians Philip and Mary Matter prepared the forms for the Department of Interior to place the house on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.
The T-frame house was constructed by George Morton in 1870 after he bought the 3-acre property in 1859.
Williamson County historian Rick Warwick said the house changed hands in 1882 to James Brittain, who lived in the house until 1960.
Warwick said the house has largely remained unchanged over time, with original windows and shutters.
